I am so excited about this blanket from Ally Zabba. So many of you have been asking when Ally Zabba would personalize again, and here it is. The Cuddle Zabba, personalized with your choice of name, font, and color.

Also, a customer recently e-mailed me and asked if I would group like-fabrics together. She wanted to buy a few different baby items, but had a hard time knowing which items were offered in what fabrics.

I created a new category this weekend, called "Shop by Fabric". Now all you have to do is look for your favorite fabric, and everything I sell will be in that one spot for easy coordination.

A Giveaway:Ellie Bellie Kids Messenger

To kick off the birthday celebration, enter to win {your choice} an Ellie Bellie Kids Messenger Bag!

I really, really adore this bag. Most kid bags are either plastered with an annoying licensed characters, or lack any color whatsoever.
I love the whimsy of the robot and the bright colors. Then again, everything Jen does is classic and chic.
Simply leave a comment here for your chance to win this awesome prize from Ellie Bellie Kids.
Please check back later this week for more giveaways!

It's my Birthday!

Four years ago, I embarked on a journey.
My first web site took $100 to create. I told my dad that if I made that money back in the first year, I would be thrilled.
Who would have thought?

Sewing crazy hours for many years, adding retailers, selling in Target Stores, partnering with Itzy Ritzy on the Wet Happened? wet bag and Snack Happened bag, building such great relationships with my customers....I just love it.

I am blessed and honored.

From the bottom of my heart- I thank you! Thank you for your business, your partnership, and most of all your belief in me.

I have some great giveaways planned, starting tomorrow. Please check back for your chance to win! Also, as a small way to say thanks, please use FREESHIP for free shipping through Feb 6th.
Thank you again! Sincerely, Jamie Bird
Fun Fact: I started my website January 15, 2006. Any guesses as to when I received my first order?

Made by Angie Special Discount Code

If you are a mom, maybe you have been there.

At the grocery store with a child who, well, doesn't want to be at the grocery store. I did what any self respecting mother would do.

I bribed. "Stop crying, and I will get you a candy bar" I said.

Sidebar: What's funny to me is I was one of those people who said they would never give their child candy of any kind. My kid will not eat junk. No McDonalds, no candy bars, no soda...nothing! Phsssssh. Parenting was so much easier when it was hypothetical.

Delighted with his new found sweet treat, my son proceeded to get everything in a half mile radius sticky and smudged with chocolate.

I pulled out my Made by Angie wipes case, and felt stylish and hip.

I just love these things. I have this one, among others:-)

If you have been looking at them for a while and just waiting for the perfect opportunity to get one for yourself, Angie has offered a special discount code for my readers. Simply use JAMIE during checkout for 20% off.

Cleaning up is inevitable, we might as well look good doing it!

The wrong way

We changed groomers for our dog, Carmelo, about a year ago.

For many years we went to a school of pet grooming place, but all the sudden one day I called to make an appointment, and they were out of business.

We went through the yellow pages to find a new groomer, located someone nearby, and have been taking Carmelo there ever since.

This Christmas, when opening Christmas cars, I was surprised to see one addressed to "Carmelo the dog". He normally does not get mail, you know, so it was kind of suspenseful to see who it was from.

I lifted the flap and the front of the card had two beautiful golden lab puppies in stocking hats. One of those "AWWWWWWW" kind of cards. Inside, the card read "From your loyal pet groomer, R. We love grooming Carmelo!"

I admit I was impressed. Touched by the personalization and nice gesture made by someone we see for a split second when we drop Melo off.

As I was going to throw the envelope out and add the card to the basket, a little green slip of paper fell onto the floor.

"Merry Christmas", the slip read. "We are raising prices January 1st. $10 additional each dog".

Insert warm fuzzies from puppies turning cold.

She just got it all wrong. It was an inappropriate time and place to add that little bit of information, in my opinion. It rubbed me the wrong way, and the delightful card ended up backfiring.

Makes me think about my business. Have I done this? Started with the best intentions and then rubbed people the wrong way? I certainly hope not:-) If I do, be sure to tell me, okay?

I just love Spring

The colors are happy. Designers are transitioning from blacks, browns, and navy into fresh and vibrant spring colors.

Like this Ruffle Dress, as part of the Lil' Sprouts Clothing Company (K Bella Bambino).

I just wish the weather here in Michigan was more SPRING-like:-)

Website Stuff...

is hard.

If you have a minute, I would love your thoughts on what I could do to make my website home page more appealing. I really want to keep the information on there that is on there (ie. the stylish changing gear, great gifts, blog, newsletter, etc), but just have it laid out a little better.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
